The Diary of Anne Frank is the second most commonly read book, the first being the Bible. The diary had been read from the years 1947-2014. The Diary of Anne Frank is an enduring book because of its unique authenticity; it is not like any other book most people have read. When Anne wrote her diary, she did not wright it thinking that people will read it someday. She wrote it so she could talk about things that were personal or hard for her at the moment. The Diary of Anne Frank takes you through the journey and the horrors of the Holocaust. You feel joy when there is joy, but you will also feel the sadness when the time was sad; you can feel and easily picture everything that is happening, although you may not want to. Anne Frank’s wish- “I want to go on living even after my death”-has remarkably come true. Even though Anne is dead, her story and her experience is still very alive today because her story is about what she went through has a young Jewish girl that had to suffer some of the consequences of the Holocaust.

Teenagers can easily relate to this book because it talks about family issues, friends, relationships, and feeling alone and isolated; many struggles that teenagers go through. Everyday, more and more people want to know as much as they can about the Holocaust, and the Diary of Anne Frank allows people to take that ones step deeper into history. Lastly, the diary teaches you important lessons of life. The Diary of Anne Frank shows you how to be brave in terrifying situations and it teaches you how to work with others, even though you cannot stand them, such as Anne and Mrs. Van Daan. One last lesson you can learn from the Diary of Anne Frank is maturity. In the beginning of the diary, Anne was a little immature, as most thirteen year olds are; but near the end of the diary, Anne really started to mature and deal with things a lot better than she would have in the beginning.
